You ll Never Guess This Best Robot Vacuum That Mops s Secrets
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some have great navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other options which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through a clean.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and poop with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and performs well however it's something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and also find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This results in an effective, consistent cleaning that is also quite quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surface areas. They can reach corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another noteworthy feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction and choose between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also select the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
This device has a fairly high price tag but has a variety of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a 'Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module that includes a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best robot cleaner feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture a lot of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was quiet and had some nice jingles that signalled when it was starting or completing its task.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it comes with some unique features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock that serves as the robot vacuum with mop's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.
The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start cleaning and then recall the robot vacuums best or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
