The best rated robot vacuum robot vacuum reviews Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Check your best robot hoover's brushes regularly for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top pick), they use intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average compared to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the competitors. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it boasts industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite loud, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and a little more cost this is a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The automatic vacuum and mop cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For larger houses it's worth looking for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your house using the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop mop cleaners that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms for better performance. The app also provides access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
