Path of Exile item upgrader mod Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a frequent and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the effectiveness of the item upgrader mod they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of games and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items that have upgrade components inside them, using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it should be heavier.

There are a variety of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Some upgrades give armor an extra number of health points while others make it more powerful and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item upgrader kit can receive, as shown below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire based on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest way to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more costly, however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant boost to stats and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.

Upgrading a piece of armor to max upgrade level will greatly boost its defense however, the user must be aware that putting on weight will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. Therefore, it is typically not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces above +9, since the added defense is generally not worth the additional weight and power costs of the improvements required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain weapons come with special upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade for applying. They can be obtained by completing side quests or killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the more advanced the level. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would reset.

You can still do this but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a higher likelihood of granting you most prestigious tier of blessings and perks.

To increase their level faster, many players prioritize upgrading their weapons. Additionally players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to enhance its effectiveness when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are used in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method of creating them. You combine gemstones with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the gemstone has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can boost the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ according to the tier that the jewel is in when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons or gear.

All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a certain level to qualify for the privilege of having them. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels are able to be swapped with another identical jewel without damaging it. You can only replace the jewel once in an item upgrader mod of equipment.

Utilizing more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother and is typically performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. Jewels also enhance performance and create a harder surface than steel so that repeated friction from pivots do not cause damage to the movement.

In addition to the above upgrades, the player can also acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These are a small perk and are able to be swapped easily but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis and traits, cannot be swapped out, and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets can be used to provide your hero with many small, but beneficial advantages. They can be obtained in the areas of starting as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through doing road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post.

The first trinkets that a player can unlock is the cloak, which gives a small, but valuable boost to speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar manner as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be put into any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded and only works with certain types of trinkets.

These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows the hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also compensate for the lack of a good team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by a hero's top stats.

A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is especially true if an item level upgrade has multiple stats you wish to upgrade, as it's often better to upgrade just one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.

At the beginning of the game junglers will usually want to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and mid players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices can affect the hero's ability to manage the map.

In addition to the items mentioned above, players will discover other trinkets in form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones in the story, such as the main quest of a chapter or destroying a boss. You can check them out by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
