Upgrades can boost the performance of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The value of these upgrade is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements, and the number of random augmentations are applied.
The elite racial Shield Razortail for instance, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP and/or provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more exchangeable than the un-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens permit you to buy a new item, like an armor, weapon or ring. This swaps the current item for a different one similar item with an additional set of bonuses. Reroll tokens are an economical method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't keep the quality of the original item and any resources that are wasted aren't refunded.
Survivors can obtain reroll tokens in several ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in crates and chests, or purchased at the local store at a cost of 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute of the equipment for example, increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.
Players can reroll equipment in three aspects: physical power, spell power, and health. Physical power increases the damage that melee and weapons, while spell power improves mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give the player an additional amount of health.
There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare, and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to a better quality. To make them, you need a higher level reroll token. Upgrades require a regular item. Rare upgrades require an item that is exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
The reroll marker, unlike other special tokens or markers placed on action spaces remains on the space until the next Success is being rerolled. This helps to avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Stage, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. Once they're opened they will display a complete description and icon of the corresponding Appliance or Ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's shop for a small amount of coins.
During the course of a run, blueprints can be transferred between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to the choice of Franchise Cards. This alters the blueprints the restaurant's shop offers for rerolls, and those that are in the non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to upgrade weapons, armor and other accessories. These are special stones that increase the value of an item by improving its stats or characteristics. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell these stones for a cost. In addition, players can get these stones by signing daily contracts.
To upgrade equipment, the player must first locate the item and then click the "level up button". The menu will appear showing the item level upgrade's current level and what it will be after being leveled up and the required amount of Growth Stones to do so. The amount of Growth Stones needed to upgrade a piece depends on its rarity. Typically, rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, whereas uncommon armor requires a single blue or green Growth Stone.
After deciding on the item upgrades to upgrade, the player has to select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay for the cost. When the requirements are satisfied, the user can select the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will raise the item's level a certain percentage. The process of upgrading can last from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is risk-free and will not impact the longevity of the item. It's a great way for players who want to gain an advantage in battle but don't want to strain their wallets. Clicking on the "transfer tab" players can transfer their experience and progress of an upgraded item upgrader mod to an entirely new piece of equipment.
For new players, it can be difficult to obtain Growth Stones. There are several methods to get the stones. You can finish contracts and purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants, defeat Abyssal Contracts, collect them from Equipment Stone Seal Book or get them from reward chests during the Ancient Arena Season. Players can also break down higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that lets you increase the stats of weapons and armor. You can also upgrade trinkets as well as helms. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials and also pay a cost in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will consume upgrade materials and grant the item an upgrade level, giving the item an additional boost in the area. This process can continue until the item reaches its maximum level.
Items that have upgraded stats will display an icon of blue next to their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments, cannot be added to more than one item at once. Each upgrade component requires an amount of items and a minimum equipment level.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left, players can add an item to be upgraded. On the right side, a preview shows what the equipment will look like when it reaches its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow after the player has enough materials will start the upgrading process.
A piece of equipment may be upgraded up to five times. Every time the item is upgraded, its base stats will be increased by a small amount. The maximum level of an item is 19.
When an item reaches its highest level, upgrades will no longer be available to it. Once a piece of equipment reaches a specific upgrade track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track will be discounted.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can be inserted into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to offer an added bonus or effect when the equipment is equipped. They can be bought through vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be swapped by acquiring new ones. However, this will cause the old upgrade to be destroyed.
Requirements
Items upgrades allow players to boost certain attributes of armor and weapons they already have equipped. The requirements to upgrade an item differ depending on the type of item however, you'll usually require Dilithium along with the number of Upgrade tokens.
Item upgrade components can be incorporated into equipment set pieces and weapons for added effects or a higher quality item level upgrade. These upgrades can come from a variety of sources, including crafting, buying at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting during bosses and raids. Once an upgrade component has been inserted into an Item Upgrader Mod, it cannot be removed and changed without restriction, however, glyphs placed in gathering tools can be swapped out without restrictions.
Upgrades to an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, some upgrade components include additional modifiers that could further improve the item's stats.
For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" increases base defense, and adds an extra 20% chance of blocking. The DPS "Wildfire", on the other hand increases damage to weapons.
Upgrades can be beneficial for certain items, but they are not because they increase stats. They are more valuable to players when they get the perfect roll. For example, a perfect-rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x the non-upp'd version.
If you choose an upgrade component that you want to put into an item the game will display a pop-up window that shows the required requirements. The game will show the required requirements when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
The game will put an item in your inventory after you have fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade. The progress bar will then change to show how close to finishing the upgrade. You can also verify the status of an upgrade by going to any upgrader NPC for the item you want to upgrade.
