WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade item the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item upgrader kit level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the Best item upgrader, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an Best item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no Best item upgrade upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even if they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few options. They can make use of Flightstones which are a common upgrade currency that is available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and consumed during upgrades at specific levels of items. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on equipment of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item Upgrader; qooh.Me,, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
