Now That You ve Purchased Item Upgrade ... Now What
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which displays an item's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item upgrading slot, and the current level of the Best item upgrade. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require a variety of means, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and some new features added. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items are from an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item level upgrade (Stanley-bojesen.blogbright.net) that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests can only be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader kit upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
