World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increase when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all the leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

It is also used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average level of the item can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can look at the item level. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it is capable of dealing with. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the item level.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is often very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, because the size of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what makes or breaks an Best item upgrader for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items extra damage, special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by naming them.

Presently, all affixes are able to be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item upgrade's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat in that range unless they are an item that is unique, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another aspect that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the interface for item upgrade comparison would not display all the possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5%. These items can be bought in the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it fails.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
