World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrades allow players to raise the item level of equippable weapons and armor. This boosts the stats of the item and may also include buffs or rerolls an affix.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrading common gear isn't always worth the cost. Unique and rare equipment can quickly outperform upgraded magic and common equipment.

Cost

The player must spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item depends on its current level and the type of upgrade selected. For example upgrading a weapon will generally be less expensive than upgrading armor because weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required for upgrading increases when the item is upgraded to the next level.

A newly upgraded item will also have improved stats, which could boost its performance in various ways. This could mean increasing its attack power critical strike chance, or damage per second. Additionally an upgraded item could be able to offer additional bonuses to its equipped unit. These upgrades can be used to boost the overall strength of a group or individual unit, and may have a significant impact on the gameplay.

The items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. In general these NPCs are found in capital cities or major questing locations. You can also find upgrades for items in dungeons that feature high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs at the garrisons of your faction.

The upgrade system for items in World of Warcraft provides players with the ability to upgrade the level of weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is very similar to that of gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the appropriate currency, players must visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.

Upgrades can be expensive especially for armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path you select, each upgrade can cost Crests or Valorstones. The total costs can be very prohibitive for players who do not have the resources or are unable to grind them.

Fortunately, the game allows players to roll an upgraded item using an exclusive tool within the items menu. This option replaces the upgraded item with an unlevel 1 version that offers different bonus effects. This can be useful to gain better results on items that have already been upgraded. However, it can also be a waste.

Requirements

Upgrading is the process of increasing the level of items that can be equipped like armor, weapons and trinkets. This improves their effectiveness and makes them more effective in battle. Players can upgrade items gear by spending the appropriate currency at an item upgrader NPC. Players should be aware the fact that some upgrades require special requirements.

Early upgrades only increase the stats of the base item by one level. Later upgrades offer more significant enhancements. Upgrades from levels 3 to 6 will increase the weapon's damage plus two levels. Additionally the upgraded item will be awarded an additional stat that is based on its tier. This bonus is a combination of a guaranteed extra substat and a random statistic that will vary in value from upgrade to upgrade.

A player can roll an upgraded item using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new one. The new item comes with different set extra bonuses, as well as a lower item level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to note that the item rerolled will not retain its level or have any wasted resources.

Certain upgraded items can only be rerolled if the original item was Unique Epic, Rare, or Rare. Exceptional items can also be eligible for rerolling, but their original stats will be replaced with an uninvolved bonus. Rerolling a Rare or Epic item will produce the normal version, and rerolling the Epic version will result in an elite version.

Upgraded items could have additional adjustments that can boost their performance and boost their stats. These additional modifiers are not included in the upgrade price. You can buy them at the Trading Post, or through other players. Alternatively, they can be earned by completing certain tasks in the game.

To upgrade an item of equipment it is necessary to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. Based on the type of item, you will require one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is available from monsters 21+ and Giants and Dice 12 is droppable from Bosses). You will also require various quantities of Minerals and Erons.

Time

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of your gear and ship without the need to level them. Upgrades aren't cheap, but they can be an effective method to boost your stats without having to spend so much time fighting. However, it's important to be aware of the costs and benefits of item upgrades prior to investing money or time.

Each upgrade increases the stats of an item by a specific amount and also gives a chance for a bonus substat increase. The extra substat is random, and can vary from a slight increase in one statistic to a larger boost in another. Focus on the items that work best in the slots first. They will give you a higher returns for your money.

You can see the amount of time needed to complete an upgrade when you open your inventory and select a weapon, ship or accessory. The upgrade window will display the progress and expected completion time. In some instances, you may be capable of speeding up the upgrade by applying a Glyph.

It is also possible to salvage certain or all of the upgrade components from an item using a high-end salvage kit sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. However, this doesn't include legendary equipment or upgrades, which can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor or by returning them to the appropriate karma merchant.

Rewards

The upgrading of items grants players money and a variety of items. In addition, every upgrade is able to give a random stat bonus. The bonus value is different for each upgrade, and is typically more expensive for rarer items. The Great Vault can be searched by players to determine if an item is upgradeable. The search can assist in determining whether the item is in a certain class and whether the player will benefit from upgrading to a specific upgrade.

During the upgrade process, the item will slowly move closer to the next level, but not always reach the maximum upgrade bar. This process makes use of Growthstones and Sollant but there is a 10% chance of getting an upgraded item in just one cycle. The more levels that an item is upgraded, the higher its stats will be and the more items that can be upgraded.

Upgrade components can be integrated into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to give an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is equipped. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Players can also find upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor, or salvage with a high-tier salvage kit. Glyphs that are placed in gathering tools, can be freely swapped out without restrictions.

A player can turn an item to upgrade items it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button with a reroll arrow. This alters the layout of the item window and allow players to select up to six items to "recycle". The item that is recycled can be exchanged for an item at level 1 of the same type. Recycled items won't keep their level, or the resources used to upgrade it.

The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item upgrader mod's tier and its quality. Common items can be upgraded up to an maximum of level six, while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine. The upgrades to an item are added to the item's base statistics and won't increase after a certain amount.
