The best robot hoover; this guy,
The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end features (such as dirt detectors) are a plus.
Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models will also empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin at the bottom. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic hoovers vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot vacuums best's power when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work, or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you have to change the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and offer more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could clean an entire home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum with mop vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost it's a capable two-in-one that should delight most.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the home based on how dirty these areas tend to be.
For larger houses it's recommended to choose models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice commands. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than its price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning robot mop and vacuum than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
