The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as a dirt detectors) are a plus.

Be sure to regularly inspect your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large debris and wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They feature motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also have carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or going to school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot automatic vacuum cleaner for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and provide better cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when it's in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxy units, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robot cleaner vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device which could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to put up some more volume and a little more cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty those areas are.

For larger houses it's worth looking for a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot cleaner to clean a particular area of your house by using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we've test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
