Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item upgrader's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck or to boost the luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5percent. These items are available in the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it is not successful.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item.
