World of Warcraft item upgrader Mod Upgrades

The upgrade of your items is a crucial aspect of equipping your character. Upgrades increase item damage and the ability to enchant.

They also provide bonuses and enhancements. They can be purchased through the Blacksmith.

The upgrade button is available on any item. Each recycled item adds a level to the upgrade gauge.

Weapons

If a weapon is upgraded, it gets a base damage bonus, as well as an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. The weapon can also gain a number of upgrade components that provide additional effects or attributes and some even have unique cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets. The majority of them require that the equipment is equipped with an upgrade slot and that it meets certain specifications. The upgrade component can be removed from the weapon, armor, or trinket, but it will not be replaced. (Except for legendary equipment). Upgrade components can be retrieved through the Black Lion Salvage Kit, Ascended Salvage tool, or a high-tier salvaging tool for an item level upgrade.

In addition to the basic upgrades, a weapon may be upgraded by adding a Calibration Attribute that improves certain stats like Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This can be done through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be repeated four times, based on weapon's level.

After the weapon has reached its maximum level of improvement and is then reforged to add different bonuses and effects, or to improve specific stats. All of these upgrades can be used simultaneously, and their effects will depend on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game who can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area and Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons, and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the kind of damage a weapon deals.

In general, it's best to upgrade your weapon damage first. Then you can increase your armour defense and, finally, the secondary stats required by your build. It is not unusual to see melee Druids upgrade their weapons prior to upgrading other gear. This helps maximize DPS. This is particularly true for enchantments, which are extremely effective in boosting the weapon's damage and other stats.

Certain upgrades also have passive effects, such as cutting down on the amount of damage that is taken while wearing armor or granting the chance to avoid attacks.

Based on the type of armor, upgrading an item may require multiple tries. For instance, if a player wanted to upgrade an existing Steelclash armor to Dragonscale the first attempt will result in a brand new piece of Dragonscale with the base defense of 59 and 67. The second attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor that has an initial defense of 67-77, and the list goes on.

This makes them useful for certain builds. There are many other ways to improve armor stats besides upgrading the armor, for instance using the engineer trait to increase armor penetrating or the challenger trait to decrease total weight.
