Top Rated Robot Vacuum Rated robot cleaner Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency with which you need to manually vacuum. Find one that has good navigation, can sweep corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.

You can also find models that mop and charge themselves, a feature that may be essential for those who have pets or kids. Many of the top performers in our tests offer decent obstacle-avoiding capabilities.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ an excellent option for those looking for a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it is full.

Both robots are good at picking up surface dirt on floors and carpets, and they can easily maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested. It can get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line and is equipped with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot using voice or via the app.

In our tests the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa automatic vacuum cleaners the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpets to trap large particles and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It can quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments as well as a wand clip. This is a big improvement over the older Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. Its claims on the market that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests show. This is an average not an extraordinary time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to get every single spot (though a second run-through usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of the most well-known robot vacuums the 694 is a basic model that's an excellent choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all debris types and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. Because of this, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it frequently will run out of battery before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, as it has a better battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and can perform better on low-pile and bare floors.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name that is seen on a variety of electronic gadgets for your home So it's no surprise that they're one of the most reputable robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and more. It's simple to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. However, it wasn't particularly well at avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tested and could be a deal-breaker for some buyers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible through the app, and you can also set up a live stream from the affordable robot vacuum's cleaning station. This feature lets you to monitor your children or pets while you're away. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and improves suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for hard flooring. They come with a wide cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds 2X more debris than the competition to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers to clean along edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which can tell if it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and automatically adjusts the power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets you to view a virtual map, control functions, and set schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and connect it to the dock for charging at the touch of a single button. The app also lets you to personalize the lights on top of the vacuum using different colors, so you can clearly see the areas where it's focused or where it's got stuck.

The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot when needed. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to trip up some of the other robots I've tried. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. The ability to create weekly cleaning schedules is a great time-saving convenience.
