World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the item to which it is used (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade items crystals.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon the reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is Best item upgrade to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item level upgrade has a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade items tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item may become more expensive even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as a dolphin). The item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like chances to be crit attack damage, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
