Now is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using apps-based no-go zones. its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its most significant advancement is an obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so you can tell the robot to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't want. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it by speaking to it.
The design is also more appealing than the competition. It has a sleek, top piece that resembles a toy rather than an obnoxious and loud best robot vacuums. And the Clean Base automated vacuum Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it on the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. And it did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it isn't able to clean the stairs, it's a good option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be a hybrid. This kind of robot usually has a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably soft around obstacles like tables and walls which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled with the buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas or adjust your home map, or change the room's label.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place the process of emptying the bin is simple. It features a large LCD screen, which is useful for setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't necessary for everyone, however it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum cleaner best vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design is one of the top in the market, but it's expensive.
The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and its size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling point is how it automates many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot vacuum sale fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovac that I've used that has done a good job picking up the dust from floors with no. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially in the area of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren’t as reliable as other robovacs. This means it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for plush carpets.
Although it doesn't have as many in terms of cleaning options available in its app or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those seeking a great all-round mop and robot vacuum that's worth the higher price price.
If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options available. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing automatic hoover robot vacuums that have the right balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to leave the dock close to a power outlet and enough space to allow it to move however.
The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it is able to be placed under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design is less flashy than some of the rival models, with sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.
The most important feature that distinguishes the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.
The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges more quickly and has the same battery life, while providing better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin, which does not require more emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and it struggles less with heavy materials such as cereal.
