WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item upgrades that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade items tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a certain item level upgrade [just click the next article] level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will cost less even if they belong to a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrader mod in the proper steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one use therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
