World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level and boost additional stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. This is the sum of all its upgraded advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

It is also used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it's able to deal. Comparing items in a vendor's stock is possible using the item's level.

The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories about how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory says that the item level is determined by formulas that determine the value of the stats of an item really are. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets increase the item's value. This process can result in a calculated value for the Best item upgrade's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's real item level.

However, this isn't the only factor that can affect an item upgrader mod's ilvl since the level of the region the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Affixes are used to give items extra damage, special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by adding a name.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and other items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll the affixes. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it is an exclusive item or an item that is a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to increase. As with base equipment, it must be done per item and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the chances of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is more useful for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be bought from the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of the item. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
