World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This improves the stats and can also add buffs or rerolls on an affix.

It is important to remember that upgrading common gear isn't always worth the cost. Rare and exclusive gear will quickly outclass modernized magic and common equipment.

Cost

When a player decides to upgrade an item, they have to spend Gold to upgrade the item. The cost of upgrading an item is contingent on its current level and upgrade type selected. For example upgrading a weapon will generally be less expensive than upgrading armor, since weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required increases when the item is upgraded to an upper level.

A new item will also come with increased stats, which could boost its performance in various ways. This could mean increasing its attack power and critical strike chance or damage per second. A upgraded item can also provide additional buffs to the weapon it is equipped with. These upgrades can be utilized for a number of reasons such as to increase the overall power of a particular or group unit. They can also have a major impact on the gameplay.

Items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. In general these NPCs are found in major cities or questing areas. You can also find item-upgraders in dungeons that feature high-level bosses. You can also talk to NPCs at the garrisons of your faction.

The upgrade item system for items in World of Warcraft provides players with the possibility of upgrading the levels of weapons, armor, and trinkets. The process is similar to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the appropriate currency players need to visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.

Item upgrades can be expensive, particularly when it is related to armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade track you select, each level increase will cost Valorstones or Crests. The cost can be prohibitive for those who don't have the money, or are unwilling to grind.

The game allows players to play a reroll of an upgraded item with a special tool in the menu of items. This option exchanges the upgraded item with an equivalent level 1 version of it with an additional set of bonus effects. This is useful to improve the roll of items which are already upgraded. However, it could be a waste of time.

Requirements

The process of upgrading equippable items like armor, weapons and trinkets is to raise the level of the item. This improves their stats and can make them more effective in combat. Players can upgrade their gear by spending appropriate currencies at an item upgrader NPC. Players must be aware of the fact that some upgrades require special requirements.

The first upgrades increase the base item's stats by one level, however later upgrades provide more significant enhancements. For instance, upgrading a weapon from level three to level six can increase the weapon's damage by two levels. A bonus stat will be added to the upgraded item based on the level. This bonus is a mix of a guaranteed substat and random generated stats that can vary from upgrade to upgrade.

A player can reroll an upgraded item by using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new one. The new item will come with a different set of extra bonuses, as well as an lower base level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for dexterity and strength. It is important to note that the item rerolled will not be able to maintain its strength or have any of its wasted resources.

Some upgraded items can only be rerolled if the original item was a Unique, Rare or Epic. Additionally, exceptional items can be rerolled, however the original stats are replaced by a flat-rate bonus. This means that rerolling a Rare item upgrader kit will result in a normal version of the same kind, while rerolling an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same type.

An upgraded item may also have extra modifiers, which could further boost its stats and boost its performance. These additional modifiers aren't included in the upgrade cost. They can be obtained through doing quests, purchasing them at the Trading Post or from other players. They can be earned through fulfilling specific missions in the game.

To upgrade a piece of equipment, you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Based on the type of item, you will require one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is available from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 12 is available from Bosses). You will also require different amounts of Minerals, Erons and Giants.

Time is a factor.

Items upgrades can be used to improve the performance of your equipment and ship without having to level them. Upgrades aren't cheap, but they are a good way to boost your stats without having to spend as much time fighting. It's essential to know the cost and benefits of upgrading your items before you invest your time or money.

Each upgrade increases the base stat of an item by a specific amount and also gives a chance to gain a bonus substat increase. The extra substat is a random and could range from a slight increase in one statistic to a much greater boost in another. It's best to focus on the top-performing items in your slot first, as they will yield a higher return for your investment.

You can view the time it takes to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting a weapon, ship, or accessory. The upgrade window will display the estimated completion time and the progress. In some instances you may be capable of speeding the process by using a Glyph.

It is also possible to retrieve some or all upgrade components from an item by using a high-end salvage kit, which is offered by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. This is not the case for legendary equipment or upgrades that can be retrieved using an upgrade extractor or reclaiming with the corresponding Karma merchant.

Rewards

Item upgrading rewards players with a number of items and currency. In addition, each upgrade can provide a random extra stat bonus. The bonus value will vary for each upgrade, and is generally higher for items that are rarer. The players can perform a Great Vault search to see whether an item can be upgraded before spending tickets. The search can help determine whether the item is of a particular tier and whether the player will benefit from an upgrade.

During the upgrade, the item will slowly move closer to the next level, but not always reach the maximum upgrade bar. This process uses Growthstones and Sollant however there is an 80% chance of achieving a fully upgraded item in just one cycle. The more levels an item is upgraded to, the greater its boosted stats value and the more items it can upgrade to.

Upgrade components can be integrated into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an attribute bonus or additional effect when the equipment is equipped. Some upgrade components also have cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Players can also find upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high-tier salvage kit. Glyphs placed on tools for gathering can be swapped freely.

The player can transform an item to upgrade it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button with a reroll arrow. This will alter the layout of the game and allow players to select up to six items for "recycling". The item that is recycled will be exchanged for an item of level 1 similar to it. Rerolled items won't retain their level or the amount of resources needed to upgrade them.

The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by its tier and quality. Common items can be upgraded to an maximum of level six while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine. Item upgrades are added to the item's base statistics, meaning that they won't increase after a certain point.
