Why You Should Concentrate On Enhancing Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. For example upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar Best item upgrade from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item level upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade items system. When a player has an upgrade to a specific level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will be less expensive, even in the event that they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific Best item upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
