Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance the addition of a Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces glyphs with another glyph the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across several items.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the item upgrade's base type. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the option to transfer it to a new character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will result in a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure, engineers will utilize an instrument to compare the measurement to a known reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrader. It is an essential part of the game that can boost the damage, strength or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for all stats. This can be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the higher the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on a unit. This is a great method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling is a method to create a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and achieve higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can have various sizes, contain none at all, or contain a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.

There are many set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. Sets of armor that offer high defense values or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often don't improve the item's stats much compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have a lot of armor pieces or weapons.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to parity with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can improve their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item upgrader kit as well as the items required to upgrade it. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements for specific items.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. It will also boost the defense of armor with an updated look.
