Why Is There All This Fuss About Item Upgrade
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can sometimes increase the power of a piece of equipment and, sometimes, even add extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random augmentations used.
For example, the elite shield of racial violence Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb capability in PvP or to add additional defenses to missile-based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable over the unupgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens allow you to reroll an item you have acquired, such as a weapon, armor or rings. This replaces the item with another item of the same type, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens are an affordable method of upgrading gear. However, they do not retain the same level as the original item and any resources that are wasted aren't refunded.
Survivors may acquire reroll tokens through several means, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be located in crates and chests or purchased from the store for 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter the attribute of a piece equipment such as increasing the damage it can cause.
Players can roll their equipment using three attributes that include physical power, magical power and health. Physical power increases the damage that weapons and melee attacks, while spell power upgrades mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional level of health.
There are three kinds of reroll tokens: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades an item to a higher-quality, with the requirement of an upgraded reroll token in order to make it. Upgrades require a regular item. Rare upgrades require an item that is exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
The reroll marker, unlike other special tokens or markers placed on action areas, stays on the spot until the next Success is to be rerolled. This lets you save upgrades.
Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. Once they're opened they will display a complete description and icon of the corresponding Appliance or Ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's store for a small amount of coins.
In the course of an event, blueprints may be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to the choice of Franchise Cards. This changes the blueprints that the restaurant's shop has available to reroll, and those that are located in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to upgrade weapons, armor and accessories. These are special stones which increase the value of an item by increasing its stats or characteristics. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. They can purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a cost. In addition, players can get these stones by completing daily contracts.
To upgrade equipment to upgrade gear, players must first locate the item and then click the "level up button". The screen will show a summary of the item's level, and what it will be after being upgraded. It will also display the amount of Growth Stones required to do so. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade a piece of gear will depend on its rarity. Typically rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, whereas uncommon armor requires a single green or blue Growth Stone.
After deciding what to upgrade, players need to select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to utilize and pay the appropriate cost. Once the player has satisfied the requirements, they can hit the upgrade button and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. Depending on the item's rarity the upgrade process can take anywhere from seconds to minutes.
The upgrade process is risk-free and does not impact the longevity of the item. This is a great way for players who want to get an edge in battle, but don't want to strain their wallets. Clicking on the "transfer tab" players can transfer the experience and progression of an upgraded item to a new piece of gear.
The process of acquiring Growth Stones in Throne and Liberty can be daunting for new players. There are a variety of ways to acquire them, including completing contracts and purchasing them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, obtaining them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from the reward chests of the Ancient Arena season. Players can also break down higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that lets players boost the base stats of weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials and then pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The upgrade items components will be consumed and the item will receive an upgraded level. This process continues until the item reaches its maximum level.
Items that have upgraded stats will display a blue icon next to their slot. In contrast to enchantments, upgrade components cannot be stacked with each other, but can only be added to one item level upgrade at one time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a certain number of items to be applied, as well as a minimum level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can place an item to be upgraded. On the right, an image of the gear will look like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow when a player has sufficient materials will initiate the upgrade process.
A piece of gear can be upgraded up to five times. Each upgrade, the base stats of an item will be increased by a small amount. The maximum level of an item is 19.
When an item is at its maximum capacity and is no longer upgraded, it does not have the option of upgrading. In the same way, once an item reaches the level of a specific upgrade track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer), upgrades to that track will come with discounted prices.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can be put into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to offer an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, looted or obtained by completing quests or traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, but doing so will destroy the previous upgrade, excluding for glyphs, which can be removed and replaced freely.
Requirements
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the stats of certain armors and weapons they already have. The requirements for upgrading an item will differ based on the type of item however, you'll usually require Dilithium and the number of Upgrade Tokens.
item upgrader mod upgrade components can be incorporated into equipment set pieces or weapons to provide extra effects or a higher level of the item. These upgrades can come from a variety of sources, including crafting, buying at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from bosses and raids. Once an upgrade component has been inserted into an item, it cannot be removed and changed without restriction, however, the glyphs used in gathering tools can be swapped out without limitation.
Upgrades to an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, some upgrade components come with additional modifiers that can increase the stats of an item.
For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" increases base defense and adds an extra 20% chance to block. Additionally, the dps upgrade "Wildfire" increases weapon damage.
Upgrades can be beneficial to some items, but not because they increase stats. They are more valuable to players when they achieve an exact roll. A perfect-rolled 200/6 500 armor set piece, for instance, is highly valued by the melee PvP communities and can be worth as much as 20-50 times the non-upp’d version.
The game will highlight the requirements when you select the upgrade component that is incorporated into the item. These include the type of item (either Weapon or Armor) and the level of the item, the upgrade Token required, as well as the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade.
The game will put an item in your inventory when you have completed the prerequisites for an upgrade. The progress bar will update to show you how close to finishing the upgrade. You can also verify the status of an upgrade by visiting any item upgrader NPC.
