WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrader kit level by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will show the item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via several methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and numerous new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same Item Level Upgrade level will cost less. This is even if those items are from an entirely different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available after certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item upgrader kit like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade items for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one usage, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
