Upgrades to gear increase its base stats and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrade is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are applied.

The racial Shield elite Razortail for instance, is frequently upgraded to enhance its lightning absorption function in PvP and/or provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens allow you to reroll a purchased item, such as a weapon, armor or ring. This replaces the item with another of the same kind, but with different bonuses. Reroll tokens can be an economical method of upgrading equipment. They don't preserve the original equipment's condition and any wasted resources will not be refunded.

Reroll tokens can be obtained by survivors by a variety of means, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute on the equipment that could include increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.

Players can roll equipment with three attributes, physical power, spell power and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage caused by weapons and melee attacks and spell power improves mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give players additional health.

To upgrade gear, the player must first locate the item, then click the "level up button". The menu will appear showing the item's current level and what it will be when being leveled up and the required amount of Growth Stones to do so.
