WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the Best item upgrade level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level upgrade (speaking of) level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via a variety of means, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and several new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true even if those items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on equipment of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade item their gear to the highest level possible on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them properly. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
