The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as dirt detector) are a plus.

Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models also self-empty their onboard dust bin into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great option for those who want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also quiet and works while you are at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum cleaners best hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the task of cleaning a whole home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums it, something we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competition. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaner reviews that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit costly, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best automatic vacuum cleaner robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and cleans and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house depending on how dirty these areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you have a number of furniture. Additionally the recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or set up the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums uk vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
