Can Item Upgrader Ever Rule The World
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each Upgrade Item increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
Item level is a commonly used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It also serves as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a measure of the damage and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the level of the item.
On PC, you are able to check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the item level is calculated by formulas that determine the worth of the stats of an item really are. It is based on the fact that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
This is not the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item upgrade. The level of the area where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Item stats are a big part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods which are then enhanced by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.
Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other rerolling methods.
Players can choose to upgrade an item by a specific stat, or reroll the affixes. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat in that range unless they are a unique item, or a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item basis and the item upgrader kit compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is thus more useful in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.
Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields, and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.
Furthermore some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it does not work.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has a success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5%.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
