Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance, adding the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from the previous versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item upgrading can only be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level however the materials required aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will increase its features. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the type of item it is. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the choice to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However it has a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers employ an instrument to compare the measurement with a known reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod before turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that the buildings are constructed with a high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering the upgrade components of an Best item upgrade. It is an essential aspect of the game that can increase the damage, strength or other characteristics. You can do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in rare cases.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the amount of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are rolled over the usual affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also includes a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on a unit. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending lots of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker path to a powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all, or contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense values or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not boost the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have lots of armor or weapons already.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own unique functions that can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items to parity with the levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To see if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen of their character. This will display the item's features, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will give a substantial increase in their performance. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
