Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Select a vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners, and that has an enormous bin that needs to be emptying every so often.

There are models that mop and charge themselves this is an option important for families with pets or children. A lot of the top performers in our tests also have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent alternative for those who want a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot once it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robot vacuum-rated robots that we test the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is empty it will return to its docking station, automatically empties its dirt into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it began. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and is equipped with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot via the app or by voice.

In our testing the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our top choice which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot vacuum cleaners to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and sweep a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households and can fit perfectly next to the table for a coffee or a bookshelf where you can wave it around like an enchanted wand.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that can provide power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It is able to swiftly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

This model has a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also gives an easy access to two attachments and a Wand. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests have shown, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. It's still enough time to clean most of a home that's average size but not long enough to cover every spot (though an additional run-through often will suffice). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuum cleaners vacuums, the 694 is a basic model that's an excellent option for those who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It could pick up most types of debris and sizes in our testing and often went over the same area many times for an extensive clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and edges of walls.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top picks and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often runs out of battery power before making it back to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways because it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with the voice assistant on your smartphone. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and is more effective on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a wide range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations, docking frequency settings and many more. The app is easy to navigate and use as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested, and this could be a deal breaker for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that can be accessed via the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the best robot floor cleaner's bin clear and optimizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker robot vacuum cleaner black friday Vacuum

Unlike other robotic vacuums, which are designed for both hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area clear for maximum runtime. They also come with two side sweepers that can be used to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level depending on whether it's picking up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. The vacuum also has an app that lets you to view an interactive map, remote control vacuum cleaner functions, and create schedules. You can also track the vacuum's status and send it to its dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app lets you customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.

The application also allows you to manually steer the robot in the event of need. For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that tends to trip up some of the other robots I've tried. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
