The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are great features.

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.
Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.
This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a carpeted area, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
The robot automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky units of the competition. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient, but it's going to cost you more and create more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dries mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would expect from its price tag. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
