What Will Item Upgrade Be Like In 100 Years
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item upgrades level upgrade (Click To See More) level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item upgrader mod has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through several methods which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and several new features added. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true even if those items are from a different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
