This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to sleep.
It's also a bit costly but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

It also mops using one pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto vacuum and mop-emptying washable base.
