The Best Robot Hoover

The Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as a dirt detector) are both positives.

Be sure to inspect your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large debris and wash them if required. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They feature motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also quiet and operates while you are at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum with mop vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming this feature, which we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the rivals. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum uk in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or at night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with how dirty they are.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your home using the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have large furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app also provides access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuum cleaner best vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. And you can set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
