Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats improve in value. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks must be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be found on all tooltips for items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an indicator of the damage and quality. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full item description, including its value. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item upgrade level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values, and also that gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is typically close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl since the level of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes could do things like give the item additional damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it is an item that is unique or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items wouldn't show all possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items as well as the properties spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items (Click At this website). It merely gives players a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more useful in the early game as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item upgrade, up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item upgrading the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of the item. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
