STR has secured its first victory in eliminating instances of the evolution of the horse and an avian ancestor, called the Archeopteryx in textbooks. The focus is now on the removal of excerpts from Darwin's notorious finch research as well as on human evolution too.

STR claims that it has the support of around 4,000 families and individuals. Its aim is to root out what it sees as the "atheist materialism" that reflects a hopeless worldview for students. It also hopes to combat the influence of American Creationists in the United States. A survey of undergraduates studying biology revealed that a majority of them did not believe in evolution.
