World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips of items. It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can see their average item upgrade level in their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's an indicator of the item's damage and quality. The level of an item can be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a seller.

The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its value. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are many theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values and gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzards actual level of the item upgrader mod.

This isn't the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded one time however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can upgrade an item to a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's an item that is unique, or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, this must be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more beneficial in the initial game run than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
