WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader mod Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item upgrades, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players through item level Upgrade upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through several methods which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will be less expensive, even when they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade items is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance, it's Best item upgrader to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
