Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Usually items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of Best item upgrader names. For example adding the suffix Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up, but the required materials aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade item costs across several pieces.

When an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be able to receive an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's type. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level, the NPC will give players the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point like a benchmark, or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically improve an item's strength, damage, or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be used in rare cases.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you could receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for all stats. This can be a great or a bad thing, depending on your requirements and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could be equipped with a special fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher your chance of getting a unique bonus.

The game also includes various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on the same unit. This is a good way to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all or contain a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

There are many set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have a lot of weapons or armor pieces already.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific tools that are suitable for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their levels. For example, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. This will display the item's attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade item the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial increase in their power. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
