Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

Leveling
