Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. 3. IRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

For larger houses, it's worth opting for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your home using the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have large furniture. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for better performance.
