Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades

Upgrading gear increases its base stats, and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the number of random augmentations used.

For example, the elite shield of racial violence Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb function in PvP or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradable than the non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens permit you to roll a purchased item like armor, weapon, or ring. This allows you to swap the item for one similar one with an additional set of bonuses. Survivors can obtain reroll tokens in several ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. Players can reroll their equipment using three aspects: physical power, magic power and health. Upgrades to physical power increase the damage of melee and weapons attack, while upgrades to spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and rings. There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a higher quality, with the requirement of an upgraded reroll token in order to create it. The upgrade of an item can boost its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, some upgrade components come with additional modifiers which can further improve the item's stats.

The upgrade to the helm "Foundation of the Sun", for example, increases base defense and adds an additional 20 percent chance of blocking. Additionally, the dps upgrade "Wildfire" increases damage to weapons.

Upgrades can be beneficial to certain items, but they are not because they increase stats. They are more valuable to players when they get an exact roll. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example is highly sought-after by the melee PvP communities and can be worth as much as 20-50 times the non-upp’d version.
