Components

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item upgrade, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical.
