The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or received from chests or missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar.
